- How does the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush work?
- The NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush is purposely designed like a dental instrument with an angled neck and multi-level bristles to remove plaque, especially in places that are hard to reach.
Soft, longer outer bristles gently clean along the gum line and back behind the teeth, while firm, mutli-level inner bristles thoroughly clean between teeth and are tough on plaque. -
- How is the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush different from other toothbrushes on the market?
- The NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush is clinically proven to remove more plaque than the leading toothbrush and up to 90 percent of plaque in places that are hard to reach.
-
- What is the difference between brushing with a manual toothbrush versus an electric toothbrush?
- According to the American Dental Association, both manual and electric toothbrushes can effectively and thoroughly clean your teeth. Finding a toothbrush that cleans away plaque on the teeth and along the gum line is essential. Adults should talk to their dentist or dental hygienist about the toothbrush that best suits their individual needs.
Because the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush is developed by Johnson & Johnson - a pioneer in oral care for more than a century – users can feel confident they are selecting the right toothbrush to achieve a cleaner, healthier mouth.
-
- How do I choose the right toothbrush for me?
- Talk to your dentist or dental hygienist about what types of oral care products will be most effective for you. Adults should choose a toothbrush that they find easy to use twice a day to thoroughly clean all the surfaces of their teeth, such as the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush. Toothbrushes should be replaced every three to four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed, to ensure superior cleaning.
-
- How should the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush be used?
- For best results and to achieve a WHOLE MOUTH CLEAN™, brush your teeth for two minutes with the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush twice a day, floss once daily with the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss and rinse with an antimicrobial mouthrinse such as LISTERINE® Antiseptic.
The American Dental Association recommends the following steps when brushing your teeth:
Place the toothbrush at a 45-degree angle against the gums. (The angled neck of the NEW REACH® by design™ Toothbrush fits your mouth so it is easy to clean places that are hard to reach.) Move the brush back and forth gently in short (tooth-wide) strokes. Brush the outer tooth surfaces, the inner tooth surfaces and the chewing surfaces of the teeth. Use the “toe” of the brush to clean the inside surfaces of the front teeth, with a gentle up-and-down stroke. Also, brush the tongue to remove bacteria and help freshen breath.
Toothbrushes should be replaced every three to four months or sooner if the bristles are frayed, to ensure superior cleaning.

-
- How does the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss work?

-
- How is the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss different from other flosses on the market?
- The NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss is the only flexible dental floss that uses revolutionary MICRO-GROOVES™ that work like a squeegee to grab and remove plaque for a superior clean. The easily sliding, flexible floss stretches, to get between teeth, then grips, to remove up to two times more plaque than all Glide® floss products.
-
- What are MICRO-GROOVES™ and how do they work?
- MICRO-GOOVES™ are raised ridges found exclusively on the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss. Because the floss is flexible, the MICRO-GROOVES™ act almost as tiny squeegees, grabbing and removing plaque for a superior clean.
-
- How strong is the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss?
- The NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss is a single-fiber, flexible, shred-resistant floss and will not break with normal use.
-
- What material is REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss made of?
- The NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss is made out of a stretchy material that allows the floss to flex to adapt to the contours between the teeth and slide without shredding for an easy, more effective cleaning experience. The floss is also more comfortable to grip and wrap around the fingers.
-
- Who should use REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss?
- The NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss can be used by any adult, especially:
- Adults who need greater plaque removal.
- Adults with tight contacts, veneers and implants or who have had restorative work and need a shred-resistant, easy-sliding floss.
- Adults who seek a comfortable floss that is easy to use and does not cut into the fingers.
- Adults who do not currently floss and are looking for a positive flossing experience to acquaint them with the proper oral care routine of brushing, flossing and rinsing.

- How should the NEW REACH® TOTAL CARE Floss be used?

The American Dental Association recommends the following steps when flossing:
Break off about 18 inches of floss and wind most around your fingers. Wind the remaining floss around the same finger of the opposite hand. This finger will take up the floss as it becomes dirty. Hold the floss tightly between your thumbs and forefinger.
(Notice how easily you can grip the flexible floss and hold it comfortably between your thumbs and forefingers.) Guide the floss easily between your teeth using a gentle rubbing motion. Never snap the floss into the gums.
When the floss reaches the gum line, curve it into a C-shape against one tooth. Gently slide it into the space between the gum and the tooth. Hold the floss tightly against the tooth. Gently rub the side of the tooth, moving the floss away from the gum with up and down motions. (Feel the floss flex to the contours of the teeth as it grabs and removes the plaque. Floss will make a “popping” sound as you pull away from the teeth. Repeat this method on the rest of your teeth.) Don't forget the back side of your last tooth.
